SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio launch their long-awaited samurai epic today Like a dragon: were! for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on Windows and Steam. The game is available now in stores and on digital platforms starting at 4:00 p.m. (UTC) today.
In this historical adventure, widespread inequality reigns in Japan in 1860, and a swordsman will change the course of history in the twilight era of samurai. Follow the story of Sakamoto Ryoma, a disgraced swordsman searching for his master’s killer to clear his name, whose actions spark a revolution.

- Overflowing action and diversified armament– Engage in visceral combat combining feudal-era guns and swords as players alternate between four different fighting styles: Swordsman, Marksman, Wild Dancer and Fighter. A long list of varied weapons marks the historic transition from classic sword fighting to modern gun warfare as players train and improve their skills to unlock even more powerful abilities.
- Division Cards: Players can collect and upgrade division cards, items that grant temporary bonuses, or special abilities, such as new attacks or stat boosts. Several of these cards include cameos from special guest stars such as wrestling icon Kenny Omega, actor Rahul Kohli and others. All Special Guest Division maps will be available worldwide and on all platforms as free downloadable content.
- Historical samurai epic: An optional in-game glossary adds historical context to the people, places, and events featured in Like a dragon: were!.
- Old meets new: Like a dragon: were! expands its 2014 Japan-only predecessor with localization support, all-new content, exquisitely remastered graphics, and enhanced capabilities for modern platforms powered by Unreal Engine 4.
