After a long silence from the developers, we finally have some new, albeit unofficial, information about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Red.
Assassin’s Creed: Red was announced in September 2022, during the Ubisoft Forward program. Since then, the developer hasn’t revealed any new details about the game.
The latest unofficial news provided by Insider Gaming breaks this conspiracy of silence. The game would offer two playable protagonists and emphasize stealth..

The first part of the news offers a look at the protagonist of the story mode.
- In addition to a samurai, we will also assume the role of a shinobi (or ninja).
- The first character will be an African refugee belonging to the Brotherhood of Assassins, and the second will be a woman (which, according to the source, we saw in the game’s trailer) – Insider-Gaming reports the opposite, but it is probably a mistake.
- It’s unclear if the game will feature two separate storylines (depending on character choice), or if switching between Assassins will be an integral gameplay mechanic.
Stealth as the main theme
The second most promising information is the news that stealth will be the theme of the game. Gameplay will focus strictly on quiet operation. Actions such as getting rid of light sources, hiding in tall grass, distracting enemies, and moving bodies should be possible.

Assassin’s Creed: Red is one of ten presumed upcoming projects in the Assassin’s Creed series (others include Infinity, Hexe, Jade, and Mirage). The title should be released after AC: Mirage, which will probably not be before 2024. The game is developed by the Canadian division of Ubisoft Quebec, which has a portfolio of hits like CA: unionized oh AC: Odyssey.
