Switching between items in Sons of the Forest can feel like a chore. When you start playing the game, you need to manually access your inventory to change the items your character wears. While you can do this when you start playing, there’s an easier way that lets you quickly swap your items while you’re playing. How to quickly switch between elements in Sons of the Forest
You can do this at any time in the game. The first step is to open your inventory by holding the I button. From there you will have everything you carry in front of you, and this is the same place where you craft. You need to go to the top of this area and right click on your backpack. This should take you to the crafting area, and then you can select the items you want to put in your backpack.
Here you can select any item that is not greyed out from your inventory to put in your backpack. You can remove any item from your bag by hovering over it and clicking on it to return to your inventory. Once you have the items you want to quickly trade, exit the inventory screen.
Now, while standing, hold down the I button and your character will pull out their backpack in front of them. Then using your cursor you can click on any item you have there and it will immediately equip it. It’s not a quick method, but it’s faster than having to open all your inventory and choose the item you want to use.
