It was actually planned that the expansion “The Witcher Queen” for the online shooter Destiny 2 should appear in the course of this year- albeit without a specific release date so far. But the fans have to wait a little longer for better or worse, because the Bungie development studio has decided to postpone the release.

As the team explains in a new blog post, this step is necessary, among other things, to achieve the desired level of quality and thus not to disappoint the fans. The protection of one’s own employees also played a role. More precisely it says:

“Last summer we got our ambitions for the next era in Destiny 2 outlined with the full story arc being announced- starting with Beyond the Light followed by The Witcher Queen and Lightfall. When we started production of The Witcher Queen last year, we made the difficult but important decision to postpone the release to early 2022. We also noticed that we need to publish an additional, previously unannounced chapter after Lightfall in order to truly complete the first Destiny saga.”

Furthermore, in favor of the health of the employees, the team decided not to aim for a major launch towards the end of the year. This is another reason for the postponement of Destiny 2: The Witcher Queen to the year 2022. There is no specific release date so far, but should follow later this year.
