We have learned the first details regarding CD Projekt’s participation in this year’s Game Developers Conference. The company, in collaboration with Nvidia, will introduce the Ray Tracing: Overdrive graphics mode in Cyberpunk 2077.
Although Cyberpunk 2077 is already captivating gamers with its undeniably beautiful graphics, that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement in this area. Perhaps soon the game from CD Projekt RED will delight us even more with its appearance. Nvidia’s RTX Path Tracing technology is supposed to help.
So far, we’ve only gotten a glimpse of his abilities in the September trailer for Ray Tracing Mode: Overdrive. Players, who have been waiting for more information on this innovative technology since then, will hopefully receive a large dose of information in a few days.
As we read in the announcement posted on the GDC website, On March 22, during the Game Developers Conference 2023, Nvidia will present the first demo using the technology in Cyberpunk 2077 real time. The event, “Cyberpunk 2077 RT: Overdrive – Bringing Path Tracing into the Night City,” will feature CD Projekt RED Art Director Jakub Knapik and Nvidia Senior Programmer and Technology Engineer Pawel Kozlowski.
It should be added at the end that a few days ago we announced that in addition to CD Projekt, this year’s GDC will also see representatives from GSC Game World with an “exclusive demo” of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
