Announced at the beginning of 2019, Chernobylite has since changed a lot, and especially made its entry into early access in October of the same year.

Over the months, the developers of Farm 51 have determined that a release of Chernobylite in 1.0 must occur. either at the end of 2020 or at the start of 2021. Finally, we learn through the publication of a article on the game’s Steam page that we will have to be a little more patient than expected. Indeed, the developers now indicate that the release should take place during the second quarter. To justify this postponement, the studio declares:

Thanks to the cooperation with our publisher, All in! Games, plot and interface of Chernobylite will also be professionally translated into Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Portuguese. Additionally, all versions have been completely rewritten and tweaked (mostly stylistically). As for the voiceovers (English and Russian), we re-record them from scratch in a studio with professional voice actors.

However, the developers wish to reassure the players, and announce that at the time of its final release on PC, Chernobylite will immediately have additional content, initially planned in the form of DLC. They will also be offered for free to players who funded the title or to those who bought it in early access. There are new enemies, a new location, new weapons and additional interactions. On their side, console versions are still in development, but should be completed in the coming months.
