A new trailer for The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom has been released, offering a fresh look at what’s changed in Hyrule since 2017’s Breath Of The Wild.

There’s a lot to explore in the trailer: Hyrule itself has changed physically, with new lands in the sky to explore, and Link now has access to various vehicles. However, taking a look at some footage from the trailer also reveals several monsters from the Zelda series that weren’t present in Breath Of The Wild.

One of them, visible at the 0:56 mark of the trailer, appears to be a ReDead, the screaming zombies that paralyze Link in order to grab and bite him if he gets too close. First introduced in Ocarina Of Time, the Redeads gained a reputation for being far scarier than anything else in gaming, later appearing in Majora’s Mask, Wind Waker, and Tri Force Heroes.

However, the Redeads haven’t appeared in Breath Of The Wild, which means it’s been eight years since zombies have appeared in a mainline Zelda game. His return would be part of the darker atmosphere of Tears Of The Kingdom, announced since the first trailer for the game.

Longtime fans of the series will be able to see what appears to be Gleeok (thanks, GamesRadar), a multi-headed dragon that last appeared in 2007’s The Hourglass Phantom. See the dragon guarding a bridge.

In addition to the villains of Hyrule, the trailer shows that Link will have new tools, such as homing arrows, various vehicles, and more Sheikah Slate abilities.

The trailer debuted during last night’s Nintendo Direct (February 8), where Nintendo also announced that Game Boy and Game Boy Color games would be coming to Switch.
