Harrison Ford recalled how he rescued a hiker stranded on Table Mountain in Wyoming in his helicopter.
The actor, who trained as a pilot, detailed his rescue of 20-year-old Sarah George on July 31, 2000 during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“Well, we once picked up a woman who was hypothermic on the mountain,” Ford said. “He threw up in my cowboy hat, but he didn’t find out who it was until the next day.”
Ford, who has rescued several hikers in the past, said he no longer attends rescue missions due to tracking. “I stopped doing it because we were lucky enough to find someone and then they went on Good Morning America talking about a hero pilot.
“It’s nothing like that. It’s teamwork. It’s pathetic to think of it that way.”
Speaking to ABC News about the August 2000 incident, George said, “He was wearing a T-shirt and a cowboy hat. It didn’t look like I had seen him before.”
“I can’t believe he threw up in Harrison Ford’s helicopter,” he added.
In 2001, Ford rescued Cody Clawson, a 13-year-old boy who was lost in the woods near Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
The actor reprises his role as Indiana Jones in the upcoming fifth episode of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate. Directed by James Mangold, the film also stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Toby Jones and Mads Mikkelsen.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate hits theaters on June 30, 2023.
