An example is Luke Skywalker, and two generations later Rey also had everything to prove as a Jedi apprentice. 9 Sebulba Is A Popular Running Sportsman 
Sebulba appeared in The Phantom Menace (1999) as an arrogant jock and bully who had made a name for himself in the desert world of Tatooine. Sebulba had a reputation for always winning his races and often cheated to do so.
By the time Qui-Gon’s party arrived on Tatooine, Sebulba was well established as the best podracer on the planet, and many players, including Watto, were betting heavily on him. Sebulba had proven his worth so he had to keep going, but in the end Anakin ended up beating him.
8 R2-D2 Only Had To Prove It Once 
The brave R2-D2 astromech droid has only had to prove itself once the phantom menace, when he survived intense laser cannon fire to repair the Naboo ship’s armor after the other astromechs were blown through the air. Unfortunately, DJ turned on Rose and Finn halfway through and accepted payment from the First Order to return them. DJ didn’t want to prove he was a hero or become famous, he only cared about money and opportunities, and he let Rose and Finn know that.
6 Saw Gerrera Is Known For His Extreme Methods 
At the start of the rebellion, Saw Gerrera might have had something to prove, but not for long. He quickly gained a fearsome reputation for his efficient yet brutal methods in his fanatical fight against the Empire, even antagonizing most of the other rebels in the process.

Qui-Gon was introduced as a fairly typical, level-headed Jedi who could handle impulsive trainees like Obi-Wan with ease.
In the phantom menaceQui-Gon was already an established Jedi master who had nothing to prove. Instead, he focused on doing his job as a galactic peacekeeper well, passing on everything he knew to Obi-Wan before his death at the hands of Darth Maul.
4 Darth Vader Had A Terrifying Reputation 
As a Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker had a lot to prove, as he broke the rules and began training at age 9. He was desperate to prove himself to Obi-Wan and the Jedi Council, but when he transformed into Darth Vader, everything changed.
Darth Vader immediately became the Emperor’s right-hand man, and the entire galaxy quickly learned to fear the mighty Darth Vader. He could practically profit from this reputation, and there was not much he could say or do to further increase his enormous reputation.

Chewbacca, Han’s good friend, was the first Wookiee that fans of star wars , and Chewie quickly proved to be a reliable and useful ally to the public. In-universe, Chewbacca had little to prove to Han, Luke, or Rey, and all trusted him as a loyal friend and skilled fighter.
Chewbacca and Han had to prove themselves when they first met, but since then Chewbacca hasn’t had to prove anything. Until the end, in the The Force Awakens (The Force Awakens) as of 2015, Han knew that Chewie was his number one trusted friend, and he didn’t expect that to ever change.

Sheev Palpatine was born into a well-to-do family in Naboo, but local politics didn’t interest him. He embraced the dark side and patiently rose to power as Darth Sidious, planning years ahead to ultimately destroy the Jedi and dominate the galaxy.
Darth Sidious triumphed overnight as the galaxy’s new emperor, and from day one he earned the admiration, respect, and/or resentment of the world. He had very little to prove, even to himself, and that could be a problem. Sidious could learn and master all the arts of the dark side and be left with nothing to do.
1 C-3PO Is A Lowly Protocol Droid 
Protocol droid C-3PO finds himself in a similar situation to his astromech friend R2-D2. Like R2, C-3PO has nothing to prove because he was built and programmed for a specific purpose, and no one expects more from him. C-3PO will always do his job, but rarely go above and beyond.
