Alleged serial rapist was prosecuted for drug dealing and not for 27 sexual assaults

Miguel “N”, who was identified as serial rapist in Mexico City, was linked to drug dealing process and he has not yet been charged with charges related to 27 sexual assaults reported by ministerial authorities.

The capital prosecutor’s office reported that this subject will spend two months in justified preventive detention, after a control judge assessed the test data for his alleged responsibility in crimes against health in the form of drug dealing and hypothesis of possession for commercial purposes.

“The accused today was detained in flagrante delicto by agents of the Investigative Police (PDI) in the mayor’s office Álvaro Obregón, along with various doses of green grass ”, highlighted the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX).

As part of the first investigations, the agents in charge of the case determined that the mother of Miguel “N” suffered physical violence from the father. The defendant still lived with his parents, despite the fact that he is 56 years old.

Allegedly, his mother had knowledge of her son’s attacks, but she never tried to contact the authorities to point it out.

After his capture, at least other four victims approached the capital prosecutor’s office to report it. One of them would be key in the investigations, because apparently it preserved the garments that contain the DNA of the Peripheral rapist.

Previously, the FGJCDMX had already made public information about an alleged serial rapist.

It was on May 25, when the prosecution released the Spoken portrait of the alleged Peripheral Violator, because many of the cases to which it is linked were carried out in the corridor of the Peripheral ring.

“He has committed this type of crime in a corridor, parallel to the Peripheral from north to south, beginning in Miguel Hidalgo mayor’s office and ending in Magdalena Contreras. We have 26 proven cases in terms of the fact. Of those 26 cases we have in 13 we have the identification from genetics, that it is the same,” said Laura Borbolla to a national media.

The authorities hope that more victims will come to identify him so that the file is strengthened. Arrest warrants for rape and sexual assaults are expected to be issued in the coming days.

One day after his capture, he was transferred to the North Male Preventive Prison, located in the Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office.
