SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — D’Angelo Russell had 15 points, six assists and five rebounds in his return to the Lakers, who acquired him in a trade from Minnesota, and Los Angeles beat the Golden Warriors 109-103 Saturday State.
The German Dennis Schröder scored 26 points for the Lakers, in a duel between Californian rivals, from which the main stars of each team were absent: LeBron James for Los Angeles and Stephen Curry for Golden State.
Schröder added a crucial layup with 1:17 remaining after Donte DiVincenzo hit a 3-pointer that cut the Lakers lead to 105-101. Anthony Davis had a double-double, with 13 points and 16 rebounds, as well as three blocks, including one on a late shot from Klay Thompson.
“It was a big win, I couldn’t be more proud of my team,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said.
Jordan Poole added 29 points and six assists, but the Warriors crumbled during the streak.
