Triple H has been the guest of a new episode of the Pardon My Take podcast, where he has spoken in depth about a hypothetical return of CM Punk to WWE. Since his retirement from wrestling in 2014, many fans have fantasized about the return of the “Chicago Made,” something Triple H doesn’t think will happen, at least in the short term.
“ The last time I spoke to Punk? A year and a half or a year and three quarters “begins Triple H.” People are always going to speculate on his return. I don’t know if he will or not, but it will take place when he wants to. When people talk about it they say, ‘Call him!’ What if we make the call but he doesn’t want to answer? What if we make the call and he says ‘yeah, I’m not interested in doing that anymore?’ Maybe I’m just done with wrestling. “
“I think those are conversations that only the people involved can answer directly. I think if he wanted to do it, either we would let him know and have those conversations, or he would make a call, but there has to be a desire to do something like that. This business is too much to say, ‘uh, okay, I’ll do it.’
On January 27, CM Punk used his Twitter account to write a message celebrating the anniversary of his departure from WWE . Most recently, Renee Paquette – formerly known as Renee Young in WWE – said that “it would be an absolute shame if CM Punk doesn’t fight again.
Since his departure from WWE, CM Punk has not stepped into a wrestling ring again . He has focused on his career in the world of acting and as a mixed martial artist. He went on to have a couple of fights in the UFC, but both, against Mickey Gall and Mike Jackson, respectively, ended in loss.
In November 2019, Punk signed a contract with FOX Sports to act as host of the WWE Backstage program , his first approach to the company in more than six years. However, the show was canceled in June 2020 due to the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
