The European Commission (EC) and the countries of the European Union (EU) claimed this Tuesday before the Belgian Justice an economic compensation to the Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical AstraZeneca for alleged breach of contract.
The compensation requested, provisionally, is one euro, although later in the process the lawyers representing the EU will set the precise amount they are asking for damages.
The Community Executive and the Member States of the European Union had already denounced AstraZeneca before the Francophone Court of First Instance in Brussels, as a matter of urgency, to claim the doses that the laboratory has not delivered.
