The deputy Geraldine Ponce turns 27 this Sunday. Famous on social networks, the former beauty queen published a message on her Twitter account prior to her anniversary, as she noted that in April “pure chingona people” were born.

“They say that pure chingona people were born in April!”

On multiple occasions, the model has been a trend, either because of her selfies with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador or by an altercation with Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, wife of the president. However, here is a brief profile of the young legislator.

Geraldine Ponce was born in Xalisco, Nayarit, on April 4, 1994. Before dedicating herself to politics, she won multiple beauty pageants, even ranking as the second most beautiful woman in Mexico.

In 2014 she won the Elote Xalisco Fair contest, and a year later he took second place in Nuestra Belleza Nayarit. However, her fight for the crown did not end here, as the young woman entered the competition again to achieve first place band and thus represent their state in the contest at the national level.

So that, in 2016 she was ranked second in Nuestra Belleza México, a contest that opened the doors to various professional areas. It was in that same year, when the young woman represented the country in Miss International, an event in which the driver and judge, Diego Di Marco, asked her: “What qualities should a woman who wants to govern a country like Mexico have?”

To this, Geraldine Ponce replied: “I believe that the most important quality that this woman must have is love, love for Mexico so as not to allow any person, neither her own nor someone else’s, to harm her, as well as honesty and dedication to make Mexico have its place that we we deserve in the world”.

At the end of this stage, the now deputy wrote an emotional message on her Instagram account, where she thanked the love and support she received from family, friends and followers.

“Today ended one of the most beautiful stages I have ever experienced. Being Our Beauty Mexico International 2016 left me a lot of learning in all aspects. I am very grateful to God for having given me the opportunity to represent my beautiful Mexico and put his name high in the eyes of the world, always with pride, dignity and a lot of love. And grateful to my family and all of you for all the support that I always received, all that love that you gave me was a great motivation to give my best, thank you for everything, I always carry you in my heart.”

Ponce graduated as an engineer in business management from the National Technological Institute of Mexico. Later, On September 1, 2018, she won a deputation by a relative majority of the National Regeneration Movement party (Morena).

It should be remembered that that same year, López Obrador was elected president by millions of Mexicans.

It is worth mentioning that the political career of the former beauty queen is far from over, as she is one of the deputies who requested a license ahead of the elections on June 6. However, his intention is not to be reelected, but seek the municipal presidency of Tepic, in Nayarit.
