The Ministry of Public Function (SFP) responded to recent journalistic notes in which a report from the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF) is taken up where they are pointed out of malpractice.

In said report, they denounced that during one of the perpetrations, The SFP showed resistance and even denial for “the development of inspection operations,” according to the Animal Político media.

About, the agency led by Irma Eréndira Sandoval published certain details through a statement.

According to Raymundo Alva Huitrón, general director of social communication of the SFP, “In due time and form all information requirements, and all the evidence was provided to address the observations made by the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF) as part of the review of the Public Account 2019.”

The agency was indicated by the Superior Audit of the Federation during its report to the Chamber of Deputies.

For this reason, he assured that there is no trade in which a negative response for any delivery of information that has come from said agency, and “there is no evidence of any refusal of attention to the audit team.”

In this context, it revealed that “there was always a total willingness to collaborate in adherence to the best auditing practices”, so they clarified some points with the aim of “not misinforming society”.

In the first instance they pointed out that “it is false that information had been withheld for the auditors. In exceptional cases, in which it was materially or legally impossible to deliver the requested documentation in the time and in the form required by the supervisory body, the reasons that justified said impossibility were presented in a well-founded and motivated manner”.

On the other hand, he insisted that “at no time did the Public Function deny access to his files.”

And as an example, he mentioned that “the more than 30 thousand investigation files that it required were made available to the ASF so that they could be reviewed at the facilities where they were located, in order to verify compliance with due process; however, the auditing entity did not attend the review ”.

Finally, he declared that it is incorrect information that the appearance of public servants was denied. “Regarding the request for interviews, the estrangement from the request was stated in writing, since legally these are not part of the audit; however, there was no response from the ASF ”, sentenced.

SFP rejected accusations of obstructing, resisting and denying data in the audit process.

On the other hand, they took up the words of Irma Eréndira Sandoval, who assured that the ASF had never issued “any promotion of disciplinary administrative responsibilities, nor any request for clarification from our Unit”; on the contrary, they revealed, the only thing they received were “recommendations to strengthen internal control, which we will take into account with full responsibility in order to achieve improvements in the operation.”

“It is important to note that, as the superior auditor himself stressed in his report to the Chamber of Deputies, the control conditions were extraordinary in 2020, and they limited the ability of the auditors, as well as the audited subjects, to access the required information. In this sense, the Federal Public Administration (APF) always tried to comply with all the information requirements,” they insisted through a statement.

Finally, they assured that the secretariat began the institutional transformation in 2019, which “has implied the construction of a new normative and organizational scaffolding that began in the first minutes of the current government and due to its magnitude still continues”, but, they assured, said situation “was not considered sufficiently in some audits to which the agencies and entities of the APF will continue to pay attention with the support of the Ministry of Public Administration.”
