With great euphoria the inhabitants of Oaxaca received the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who followed him on his way to the inauguration of the University for Well-being ‘Benito Juárez García’, breaking a security fence and getting the president to lower the window of the car.

In accordance with The universal, about 200 residents of National Valley tried to enter the event of the president, mainly, to extend some demands, among them, complaints against the municipal president Reynaldo Magaña.

Between struggles and shouts of “let us in, we want to enter!”, The villagers they managed to break the first security filter, which was under the protection of military elements, members of the Assistantship of the Presidency and Servants of the Nation.

When they managed to pass, they ran to the address where the president went, however, they found a second filter, located a few meters before the entrance of the campus, where they could no longer enter.

“Here in this town there are many needs and we want to talk to the president!” Said a woman who was demonstrating.

After waiting in the heat and noticing that they could no longer advance they began to disperse little by little.

It should be noted that although the inhabitants failed to pass the second filter for extend their demands, others with more luck, before the president approached the university campus, they spoke with him and they shook his hand.

Own López Obrador pointed out that from Tuxtepec, where he led another event to deliver more than 500 musical instruments to bands of boys, girls and young musicians, people approached him, so at one point he lowered his window to attend to them.

“Since we left from Tuxtepec to Valle Nacional, the people on the road approached us to greet us, to wish us well and also to present requests and demands ”.

He assured that at first he did not want to lower his glass due to the COVID-19 sanitary protocol, which promotes social distancing and not touching others, however, he did it to “at least from afar, say hello.”

“The truth is that we met, we saw many people all the way from Tuxtepec to here and as a rule, by principle, by sanitary protocol, I have to have the glass on top, but when I got here I couldn’t that, at least from afar, say hello, because people want communication, they want communication, they want to be heard, that is the most important thing”, he detailed.

He recalled that the pandemic does not allow people to get closer to each other, but that with the advance of vaccination he hopes that this will soon change and return to normality.

In that sense, he said that the older adults 60-year-olds in the country, and that according to their estimates, Before the end of April, everyone will be vaccinated.

“The pandemic does not allow us, but I hope that soon we will return to normality, because it is also already being vaccinated, the elderly are already being protected throughout the country, the national vaccination plan is already underway and I I am sure that, by next month, before the end of April, all the elderly in the country, over 60 years old, will be vaccinated,” he said.

López Obrador will attend Guelatao tomorrow, where he will end his tour of the entity, leading an event for the 215th anniversary of the birth of the Benemérito de las Américas, Benito Juárez.
