The Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) reported that a mayor of the General Hospital Fernando Quiroz Gutiérrez, located in the Mexico City, was presented to the Public Ministry of the Prosecutor’s Office for Sexual Crimes, allegedly accused of sexually abusing an elderly woman who was intubated by coronavirus covid-19.

Through a statement, the institute affirmed that in response to what happened, the alleged aggressor was immediately arrested and placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX).

“Today, the Public Ministry made him available to a control judge, who will determine his legal situation in which he can link him to a criminal process.”

In turn, the management of the General Hospital “Dr. Fernando Quiroz Gutiérrez ”, reported that the medical unit has contracted a private company that provides cleaning services.

“On April 4, 2021, one of the employees of the aforementioned company – which had only registered four assistances – committed an alleged violation of a patient within the COVID area of ​​said hospital. Faced with this situation, ISSSTE personnel acted immediately by calling security elements, and the legal procedures were carried out to place the accused at the disposal of the corresponding authorities ”.

The ISSSTE added that since that time, Hospital personnel have supported the investigation of the events by the FGJCDMX, in addition to direct communication with the victim’s relatives, who have legal advice from workers of the ISSSTE legal area.

“The ISSSTE will not tolerate any aggression of any kind towards patients, beneficiaries or workers who are within its facilities,” said the agency.
