President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he reported that at the moment the vaccine against COVID-19 will not be administered, since their doctors assured that had enough antibodies and there was no problem with contracting or spreading the virus.

“At first, two of them had told me to get vaccinated to boost my antibodies, but I wanted to ask others: those who treated me directly when I was infected. They reviewed my studies and concluded that I have enough antibodies and that it is not essential that I get vaccinated. Two doctors had told me yes and the doctor who treated me told me: ‘not because he has enough antibodies and it is not necessary. It can wait’. He even asked me two months, which I do consider a lot and the time should be checked, but I have no problem of contagion or of infecting anyone.” He explained.

The president announced that tomorrow, April 6, one of these professionals will attend the morning press conference to delve into the subject in greater detail.

Regarding the second phase of the National Vaccination Plan, aimed at adults over 60 years of age, López Obrador affirmed that by the end of April this entire population will have received, at least, the first dose of the antigen.

This month all older adults are vaccinated, even with one dose. That gives me peace of mind because it is the most vulnerable population, it will help us because if a new strain or wave of infections appears, it will catch us with vaccinated older adults.” He said.
