Alonso Ancira could be released tonight if the FGR drops the charges against him.

On Tuesday night, during the second hearing of Alonso Ancira Elizondo, owner of Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA), the businessman could request his release after having offered the payment of 219 million dollars to Pemex. After the judge rejected various appeals requested by the defense for his release, the accused party offered a reparatory agreement for the irregularities in the sale of the Agro Nitrogenados plant.

Through the payment of the surcharge, the alleged culprit for the crime of operations with resources of illicit origin seeks that the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) drop the charges against him. Nevertheless, the law enforcement entity has not ruled on the agreement reached between Ancira Elizondo and the Board of Directors of PEMEX.
