An eleven-year-old boy died last morning in a hospital in Paris, where he was admitted in serious condition after jumping out of the window of his room, in which he left a letter of apology for having harassed a classmate, French media reported.

A neighbor alerted the mother of the victim after witnessing that scene that took place on Monday afternoon in a family apartment located on the fourth floor of a residence in the French town of Vitry-sur-Seine, on the outskirts of Paris, as indicated the French chain LCI.

A resident nurse in the neighborhood provided first aid before firefighters took over the victim, who later died at the Necker Hospital in Paris from his injuries.

According to LCI, the Créteil prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation to find out the specific causes of death, after the minor was punished at his school for having harassed one of his classmates.

At home, after his mother’s reprimand and after she sent him to his room, the boy wrote a letter of apology before throwing himself into the void.

This event occurs days after the death of Alisha K., a 14-year-old girl whose body was found lifeless in the waters of the Seine River as it passed through Argenteuil (north of Paris), at the hands of a couple of students with the that shared class.

This crime shocked French society at a time when the increase in violence among adolescents has generated concern in the Government of Emmanuel Macron, which is preparing a plan to stop gang wars and increasing school bullying.
