Forensic investigators from the Salvadoran Public Ministry located 14 bodies in the house of a former agent of the National Civil Police (PNC), who was dismissed from the institution after being accused of aggressive sexual conduct, Gustavo Villatoro, the Minister of Justice and Security reported on Thursday.

“In the case of Chalchuapa, 14 bodies have already been identified, separated in the excavations,” Villatoro said in statements to journalists after participating in a national television talk show.

It is speculated that there would be more than 20 bodies in place, but authorities have not confirmed this.

Villatoro explained that, in a work coordinated with the state Institute of Legal Medicine, “the bodies will be extracted and the normal recomposition that is done when faced with skeletons will be carried out, and DNA tests will be taken from the families of the area and that they are looking for their relatives ”.

IT IS SPECULATED THAT THERE COULD BE 20 BURIED BODIES

According to forensic experts, at least eight graves have been located in the house of the former PNC agent, located in the municipality of Chalchuapa, 45 miles west of the capital, where it is presumed that former police officer Hugo Ernesto Osorio Chávez buried his victims.

Osorio Chávez, 51, was captured for the murder of Mirna Lima and Jackeline Cristina Palomo Lima, mother and daughter of 57 and 26 years, respectively, but when investigating the place where the double femicide was committed, the experts discovered the existence of more pits.

Dozens of local and foreign surfers paid tribute this Tuesday with a ceremony at sea to the Salvadoran Katherine Díaz, an athlete who died last Friday when she was struck by lightning on a renowned beach in central El Salvador. EFE

The authorities issued an arrest warrant for another 10 people linked to nine femicides and five aggravated homicides. These people would be linked to the former police officer.

“The relationship with Hugo Osorio is obvious, since, in his residence, it is practically where these people were buried,” Gabriela Sagastume told the Prosecutor.

The Director General of the Police, Commissioner Mauricio Arriaza Chicas, confirmed that Osorio Chávez was separated from the institution in 2005 and believes that the subject had been committing the murders for about 10 years.

Tony Saca and his wife were found guilty.

He revealed that during the interrogation “he told us that he had identified the victims through social networks and was looking for a way to get closer and even make them see the American dream.”

“This psychopath is already in custody and the people who collaborated with him I think 99% are already in custody,” added the police chief.

Arriaza Chicas said that the investigations of the case are complicated because the victims were taken to Osorio Chávez’s house, so the neighbors did not realize what was happening

For his part, Minister Villatoro pointed out that due to the depth in which the bodies of the victims have been located, “it is suspected that the murders are not the work of a single person.”
