Mayor of São Paulo will resume chemotherapy and immunotherapy sessions this Saturday.
The mayor of São Paulo (SP), Bruno Covas (PSDB), underwent control tests that detected the appearance of cancer in the liver and bones. Since October 2019, the agent has been treating for a cancer of the digestive tract called adenocarcinoma.
With the new outbreaks of the disease, the toucan should resume chemotherapy and immunotherapy sessions on Saturday (17/4), according to the medical bulletin of Hospital Sírio-Libanês signed by the director of Clinical Governance and the clinical director of the institution, respectively Fernando Ganem and Angelo Fernandez.
“Clinically, the mayor is well, with no symptoms, and able to continue his personal and professional activities,” points out the statement.
“The discharge is scheduled for the beginning of the week, after completing this stage of treatment.”
The bulletin informs that Covas is being monitored by the medical teams coordinated by Prof. Dr. David Uip, Dr. Artur Katz, Dr. Tulio Eduardo Flesch Pfiffer and by Prof. Dr. Roberto Kalil Filho.
