The Powerball jackpot for April 20, 2022 was $370 million, and these are the winning numbers for Wednesday night’s drawing.
The numbers drawn Wednesday’s night were 20, 30, 45, 55 and 56 for the white balls, while the red Powerball was 14 and the Power Play was 2x.
Wednesday night’s April 20, 2022 Powerball jackpot was worth $370 million, with a cash-value option worth $222.8 million. The total jackpot could have increased depending on the number of tickets sold around the country prior to the drawing.
Mega Millions and Powerball tickets were sold in Texas during January 2020. Neither ticket was a winner and the jackpot continued to rise for each game in the new year.

How to play Powerball
Powerball tickets, which cost $2 per play, are sold in 45 states, Washington, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Ticket holders each select five numbers from one to 69 for the five white balls and a number from one to 26 for the Powerball. Players can multiply non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, five or 10 times by purchasing the Power Play option for an additional $1 per play. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from the Florida Lottery’s drawing studio in Tallahassee.
The awards
“There are nine ways to win a Powerball prize. All prizes are fixed cash amounts, except the Grand Prize. In California, prize payout amounts are mutual and determined by sales and number of winners,” explains the Powerball website. The value of the Powerball jackpot continues to grow until it is won. “The Match 5 + Power Play prize value is always $2 million, while the 10X multiplier is only in play when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less,” according to the website. Grand prize winners may receive their prize as an annuity or as a lump sum payment. For those who choose the annuity option, the winner is guaranteed to receive 30 staggered payments over 29 years.
What are the odds of winning?
The overall odds of winning a prize are one in 24.9, and the odds of winning are the same for all Powerball drawings, according to the Powerball website. “Even if more tickets are sold in a particular drawing, your odds of winning a prize are the same,” the website states.
