WhatsApp now allows iPhone users to create stickers in the messenger without having to use system tricks or third-party applications; check out how to do it

WhatsApp released on Thursday (11) the option to create and edit stickers in the iPhone app (iOS), without the need to use third-party platforms and leave the app. Users can turn their own gallery photos into stickers or edit existing options in the messenger. Apple’s phone allowed this type of media with a few tricks of the system’s own, using the Live Objects feature, available from iOS 16. According to Meta, the new feature should also ensure greater security, since users won’t have to share data with platforms that aren’t official WhatsApp platforms. See below for more details of the new feature.

It’s worth noting that the sticker creator is already available on WhatsApp Web, an option for Android users who haven’t yet had the tool in the app. You need to have iOS 17 up to date to use the new feature, which will be released to users gradually over the next few days. Older versions of iOS will be able to edit existing stickers, but not create new ones.

The new sticker creation feature in WhatsApp allows you to use the automatic crop function, as well as include text, drawings and even overlay other stickers. Once sent, the sticker is automatically saved in the sticker list and can be resent whenever the user wants.

To create a sticker with an image on your iPhone, simply open your sticker tray by selecting the sticker icon to the right of the text box. Then select “create sticker” and choose an image from your gallery. Then customize your sticker by choosing a cut-out and adding text, other stickers or drawings to it. Finally, just share it in conversations.

To edit an existing sticker, the user must also open the sticker tray and click on the sticker icon to the right of the text box. Then simply press and hold the sticker you want to edit and select “edit sticker”. You can customize the sticker by adding text, other stickers or drawing on it.
