TikTok is testing a “Repost” button, but what exactly can it be used for?

Until relatively recently, when you wanted to repost something on a social medium like Instagram, you had to download the content to your device and resubmit it.

That being said, today reposting has become a very common action and there are now built-in native functions on the platforms to do this, with a click or a tap or two, for an extremely simple and fast operation. And today it seems that TikTok want to get started also.

TikTok is testing a “Republish” button

Those who use TikTok frequently and would appreciate having a repost feature will probably be happy to hear that the feature could be coming very soon. Indeed, according to a tweet from Matt Navarra, TikTok is currently testing a “Repost” button.

At this stage, we can only guess the function of this button, but it’s a safe bet that it allows you to repost a TikTok video that you have just watched.

But what exactly can it be used for?

At the moment, it is also impossible to know how this option works and where it will be possible to repost the video. Unlike Instagram where users can repost photos and videos on Stories, TikTok does not (yet) have this kind of functionality.

It is possible that this republishing option could be accompanied by the TikTok version of the Stories. And in fact, the Repost button would allow you to repost a TikTok video in your Stories.

At this point, it is not known when this feature will be available to all users. One thing is certain, it is currently extremely limited, since it is only a test. In other words, don’t be surprised if you don’t see the button in question in your TikTok app. And if you want to take advantage of it, you will have to be patient.
