Apple is among the best when it comes to software updates.

It’s worth noting that Apple doesn’t easily drop support for iPhones: iPhones are among the most supported smartphones in the world. Apple actively provides iOS updates for five years, but often issues some urgent security updates for older devices.

For example, the iPhone 5s, released in 2013, received a security update in 2023, ten years after its release.

The iOS 17 update will arrive along with the iPadOS 17 update, macOS Sonoma and watchOS 10. These software updates will be announced along with the release of the iPhone 15 series. Apple is also expected to release the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
