The embassy of United States in Afghanistan today sent an alert to its citizens in the country to avoid the airport of Accept, where there could be a fire, and stay in their places of refuge in the face of rapidly deteriorating security.

“The security situation in Accept it’s changing fast, even at the airport. There are reports of a fire at the airport; therefore, we are instructing American citizens to stay refugees in their places, ”the US embassy in the Afghan capital reported in an alert.

It also asked US citizens wishing to leave the country to complete their respective repatriation assistance form “as soon as possible”.

This is an essential requirement for repatriation, even for those who already had processes underway, he explained.

“Do not call the Embassy of the United States in Accept for flight details or updates, this form is the only way to communicate interest in flight options”, He warned.

United States it has been evacuating all its citizens and members of its mission, along with Afghan collaborators who for the past two decades worked on the side of US forces in the war with the Taliban.

The evacuation process accelerated in recent days and hours, after the Taliban managed to capture most of the country’s provinces, and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left Accept in full siege.

As Ghani’s departure was known, the insurgents began to enter the city and take control of security.

“Military units of the Islamic Emirate (as the Taliban call themselves) entered Accept to provide security “said the main spokesman for the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid.

Eleven districts of the capital city have been conquered so far, he said.

Some 4,000 US military personnel that the Pentagon decided to send to the Afghan capital were due to arrive this weekend for the evacuation of most of the US embassy staff and Afghan citizens.

The country’s collapse occurred shortly after US and NATO forces began the final phase of withdrawal in May, handing over all their military bases to Afghans.
