The path of the Spanish rugby team to the World Cup in France to be held in 2023 will start in March. On the first weekend of that month, on the 6th and 7th, the first day of the European Championship or Six Nations B will be played, which this year and next will also serve as a World Cup qualifier.

The crosses have not yet been fixed because the 2020 edition has to be completed, whose last date forced the pandemic to be postponed. Spain had to receive Portugal in a match that will finally take place on February 7 at Central Madrid. The Lions of Santi Santos can repeat with a victory the second place of last year. In Romania-Belgium on the same day it will be decided who finishes last and therefore plays the permanence tie against the Netherlands, champion of the lower division, which will be on February 20 or 21.

Once the result of that meeting is known and the participants of this year are known, the calendar will be drawn up. The two teams with the best results between this year and next will have direct tickets to France according to the new World Rugby qualification system. The third will play a repechage.
