FC Barcelona says goodbye to its stadium and fans will be able to take a part of Camp Nou with them

This Sunday against Mallorca will be FC Barcelona’s last game at Camp Nou before moving to the Olympic Stadium of Montjuic, after the temporary farewell event, fans will be able to buy chairs, grass and other souvenirs of the stadium.

FC Barcelona is already champion of the Spanish League, it has only two games left to finish the season and one of them will be next Sunday against Mallorca at home, which will mean the momentary farewell to the Camp Nou by fans and players.

The mythical stadium where Barça has played for 66 years will be remodeled in an ambitious project called Espai Barça, which will include an expansion of the stadium and construction of several new areas, so the club will not be able to play at Camp Nou for the next two seasons.

That is why this Sunday against Mallorca there will be an event for the temporary farewell of the fans to their home and in the coming days will be launched in its official store different products that fans can buy as a souvenir of the Camp Nou.

“Generation after generation of Barcelonistas, entire families, have contributed and been part of the evolution of Spotify Camp Nou, and now the club wants the Culés who wish to can personally acquire forever a part of this history in their homes,” reads part of the statement from the Catalan team.

Some of the seats, the turf and other elements that are part of the current stadium are some of the pieces that can be purchased in the club’s official shop. A circular economy process in which members will have priority over other interested parties, enjoying access to a pre-sale of different products at a reduced price before the start of the global program aimed at all culés around the world.

Barcelona’s new home for next season will be the Olympic Stadium of Montjuic, which is located just 4 kilometers from Camp Nou. This stadium has a capacity of 56,000 people, which compared to the 99,000 of the Camp Nou makes it look much smaller for the culé fans.

Emotional farewells

In addition to bidding farewell to the stadium, the fans will take the opportunity to say goodbye to two of the team’s most important players, who will end a cycle of more than 10 years wearing the azulgrana jersey.

Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba will be the night’s honorees at the Camp Nou, both players decided to end their time at FC Barcelona and at the end of the season they will be free agents. That is why the club’s board of directors will give them their respective farewells with their fans.
