Twitter wants to be like LinkedIn and will allow posting job offers

The application will not charge for this feature, which is exclusive to verified companies.

Twitter is developing a new feature that will allow verified organizations to post job offers on their profiles, a tool with which it will be able to compete directly with LinkedIn, the most important employment platform today.

This option became known after the creation of an official account called Twitter Hiring, which for now has not made any publication, but which comes right in the middle of images taken from other profiles in which boxes promoting job offers can be seen.

According to application researcher Nima Owji, Twitter will allow verified organizations to include up to five job options on their profiles. The job postings will be linked directly to the employing company’s website, where interested parties will be able to get more details about available positions and submit their applications.

It was also announced that the platform will allow companies to import all of their job postings by connecting to an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or a compatible XML data source. This import capability will allow companies to add their job listings to Twitter in a matter of minutes, streamlining the posting and candidate outreach process.

This is not the first time that the possibility of seeing something similar on the social network has come up, because a few months ago Elon Musk made reference to this new feature by responding to a user’s comment.

In addition, when the entrepreneur took over the application, the first company he acquired for Twitter was Laskie, which is a startup specializing in job matching, which gives more shape to this development, which for now has not been made official.

According to the leaked information, it is expected that verified organizations will not have to pay an additional fee to access this job posting feature. For example, media company Workweek has confirmed that it already has access to this feature, and its CEO, Adam Ryan, revealed that it is included in Twitter’s “Verified for Organizations” package, which is estimated at $1,000 per month.

Although Twitter users already post job openings through traditional tweets, this new functionality has the potential to streamline the process and help companies reach a wider audience across the platform’s vast user base.

Articles, a new format on Twitter

Another new feature Twitter is working on is Articles, in which users will be able to publish much longer and more complex texts, even as long as a book, according to Elon Musk.

The confirmation of this tool was not given through a statement from the application, but after the publication of a Taiwanese journalist, who found the option in a test version. So the owner of the platform referred to it.

“This will allow users to publish very long and complex articles with mixed media. You could publish a book if you want to,” Musk assured.

The idea of Articles is to move away from the microblogging concept that has marked the identity of the social network, to offer an experience similar to that of a blog, giving tools to users to create long content, allowing them to include images, videos and other trills that promote greater creativity to the current format.
