- The science fiction series “Snowpiercer” is getting a 4th season from US broadcaster TNT.
- The new episodes could be released in spring 2023 in the US and one day after the US broadcast on Netflix in Germany.
- Most of the cast from Season 3 should return.
“Snowpiercer” returns for Season 4 on TNT and streaming service Netflix . You can find out below when the new episodes will appear, who will return in them and what the residents of the train can expect.
Snowpiercer Season 4: Launch
Although it is already certain that there will be a 4th season, there is no exact start date yet. If production is to start soon, we can probably expect a broadcast in spring 2023.
Snowpiercer Season 4: Storyline
Season 3 began with Layton and his inner circle returning to the super train after stealing the engine and missing for 6 months. Layton wrested control of Snowpiercer from Mr. Wilford, but he lied to the passengers, telling them he had been to New Eden and that a survivor named Asha was from the Horn of Africa.
Layton’s authority was challenged by his old nemesis Pike, who knew Andre had lied about New Eden. After killing Pike, Layton fell into a coma and, upon regaining consciousness, realized that he had invented New Eden. Meanwhile, Wilford found out that Melanie was alive, and Snowpiercer launched a rescue operation to get their chief engineer back on board.
Melanie decided that Layton’s plan for New Eden was dangerous, and she publicly exposed his lie. Melanie took control of the train, sparking another conflict between her, Layton, and Wilford.
Melanie and Andre shared the train and the passengers could decide for themselves whether they wanted to stay on board with Melanie or travel to New Eden with Andre. In addition, the two tricked Wilford and banished him from the train.
The final scene of “Snowpiercer” season 3 jumps in time three months and shows Melanie launching a rocket into the atmosphere, which could mean that there is another, previously unknown group of human survivors in the world.
So in Season 4 we will see what happens after the train separates and which passengers chose who. We will also find out if there really are other survivors.

At this point, it’s expected that Daveed Diggs (” black-ish “) as Layton, Jennifer Connelly as Melanie, Roberto Urbina (” Narcos “) as Javi, Rowan Blanchard (” The Goldbergs “) as Alex, Iddo Goldberg (” Peaky Blinders “) as Ben, as well as Alison Wright (” Sneaky Pete “), Lena Hall, Mickey Sumner, Sam Otto, Shiela Vand, Mike O’Malley (“Heels”), and Jaylin Fletcher (“Clickbait”, “Law & Order: Organized Crime”) will return.
