These are the first two sentences of a popular reggaeton song titled Gatita that, so far, has more than 21 million views on YouTube and more than 32 million on Spotify.
Behind this urban success is the singer Bellakath, who currently has 2.4 million followers on TikTok and almost 800,000 on Instagram. Her real name is Katherinne Huerta, she is 25 years old and, before becoming an icon of social networks, she had an apparently normal life.
Huerta or “La Gatita”, as her followers have nicknamed her due to her overwhelming musical success, is originally from the Agrícola Oriental neighborhood, in the Iztacalco mayor’s office, in Mexico City. It is a demarcation in which, according to data from the Inegi (National Institute of Statistics and Geography), 54% of the population aged 18 or over did not complete secondary school or higher education.
Bellakath’s case is not like that. Some photos shared on her social networks show her graduation ceremony from UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), the country’s highest house of studies, from which she obtained a law degree. Yes, Huerta has not only become the “perreo goddess”, but she is also a lawyer.
It is worth mentioning that Huerta studied high school at the CCH (College of Sciences and Humanities) and, later, obtained a direct pass from her to UNAM. Currently, she is fulfilling another dream: studying a second career, but now in Criminology.
In another of her songs titled La Gata de la Agrícola Oriental, Huerta identifies with the young people who like neighborhood parties in that area: “Arriving in the truck, I’m a tremendous rascal. I walk down the street, the ‘booty’ bounces me. I get down to the fight, and everyone is already upset. Everyone knows it, I am a tremendous mamasota ”.
The actress also participated in a television program in Mexico called “Enamorándonos”, produced by Televisión Azteca. Her interventions were controversial, since she disputed the alleged love of a man with other women. Once she managed to establish herself as a singer, her performances became popular, due to how intimidating she was in front of other contestants.
Back then, she Bellakath sported a different physical appearance. She had dyed red hair, and it was also curly. Currently, her makeup is more pronounced and her hair is deep black.
“La Gatita” has gained important places in urban music in Mexico. To appear in small forums located in the municipalities of Chimalhuacán and Nezahualcóyotl, in the State of Mexico; She recently participated in the Flow Fest, a festival in which international artists such as Anuel, J Balvin and Don Omar also performed.
