How ‘I met him late’ was born, one of the most famous compositions by Omar Geles:

Among all the songs that Geles has written, one of the most popular, indisputably, has been ‘Tarde I met him’, performed by Patricia Teherán. But how did this topic originate? where did the inspiration come from? well, last August during an interview for Suso el Paspi, the vallenato singer told the story behind it, which had as its starting point a musical presentation that the also accordion player gave in a bank in Valledupar, there he met a manager who it seemed very pretty.

“It was late I met her, I do it from a man to a woman, at that party I composed that song. Overall, when I’m recording… there was studio A and studio B, and I was in one of the two, and Patricia Teherán told me every day: -my song, my song- I had given that song to Beto Zabaleta, was waiting for me to record it; I found out in those days that he did not record it and I said: with this I am going to get Patricia off my back; I gave it to him and changed the meaning of woman to man”.
