The EdoMex Prosecutor’s Office reiterated that Octavio Ocana accidentally shot himself

The statement was published because the new defense of the actor announced that they will ask the FGR and CNDH to attract the case and determine the violation of Human Rights

On December 9, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico issued some details on the cause of death of Octavio Ocaña , the renowned actor who played Benito Rivers in the series Neighbors.

These clarifications were published after the actor’s father assured that in the particular investigation there was sufficient evidence that would change the official version of Ocaña’s death. The death occurred on October 29 aboard a truck on the Chamapa-Lechería Highway, in the Cuautitlán Izcalli municipality, State of Mexico.

In said information card, this agency denied the “alternate” version and reiterated that the 22-year-old actor accidentally shot himself with his own weapon.

“This Office of the Attorney General agrees with the lawyers’ appointment so that other institutions or agencies can analyze the actions carried out up to this point in this investigation and reiterates its commitment to make the proceedings carried out in this investigation transparent to the family and their legal representatives.”

On the other hand, this Wednesday the family of Octavio Ocaña held a press conference to present their new lawyers and announce the progress with the investigation of the case.

“It is formally stated that my son did not shoot himself, there are just a few little evidence to confirm it , but they already know, the prosecution and we, that my son did not shoot himself, they killed my son,” said Octavio Pérez, father of the young.

The new defense of the Ocaña family will be in charge of the Lex Pro Humanitas Foundation , led by the lawyer Francisco Hernández, who assured that next Monday, December 13, they will be presented to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the National Commission of Human Rights (CNDH) to request them to bring the case in order to determine the violation of human rights by the Mexican authorities.

They also indicated that they will initiate a new legal strategy based on independent expert opinions . They did not provide more details, as they mentioned that they will reveal them as the process progresses , although they did reveal the four most important lines.
