The rapper had a “traffic warrant” after he was caught in June driving over 200 km / h in his 2018 Lamborghini SUV.

Last August 9, Daniel Rodriguez, better known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, was arrested in Palm Beach County, Florida. The reason for his arrest dates back to June 11, when the musician was caught by police cruising at 218 km/h in his 2018 Lamborghini SUV on Florida’s Turnpike, south of Boynton Beach. Tekashi was not taken to prison at the time, but was required to pay a fine of USD $1,500 and appear in court when required.

The date arrived this July 12, but Tekashi never appeared in court, so a warrant was issued for the rapper’s arrest. On the night of August 9, Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.

Days after the news of Daniel’s arrest was shared, a new video has surfaced showing the moment in which Tekashi was apprehended by the authorities.

The video captured by one of the police officers wearing a body cam, shows Tekashi in the driver’s seat handing over his vehicle documents. After the officer scanned them in his patrol car, he returned to the musician and asked him to get out of the car, only to be handcuffed by the sheriff’s deputy claiming he has a warrant.

By this point, Tekashi looks very confused and asks the woman handcuffing him why he has a warrant, to which the woman replied “You have a traffic warrant”; Tekashi just said “I didn’t know that”, also assuring that he never received the ticket.

Subsequently, Tekashi was stripped of all his belongings, which were received by one of the passengers in the back seat. Large wads of cash, his cap and the keys to the Lamborghini were the items taken from Daniel, who was then loaded into the patrol car and taken to the Palm Beach jail.

Despite the scandal, Tekashi was only in jail for a few hours, as he posted a USD 2,000 bail and was immediately released. The reaction of his alleged partner, fellow rapper Yailin La más viral, did not take long to arrive, and through her social networks, she shared a photo of Daniel being processed with the caption “you see what happens to you when you don’t listen to me”. Shortly after, he uploaded a photo with Tekashi after being released with the message “collaborators of life”, which fuels rumors of a romantic relationship.

The Lamborghini case is just the latest in a string of trouble with the law on Tekashi’s part. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting a minor; the musician had recorded himself with a 13-year-old girl and the video came to light, however, he was also a minor, so the process did not reach more serious consequences. In 2018, he was arrested on charges of misdemeanor assault in Houston after trying to choke a fan. In 2019, he also pleaded guilty to federal charges after being part of an attempted murder of a rival gang while a member of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods in New York.
