Chinese-Canadian pop star Kris Wu has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after a rape trial. A court in Beijing found the 32-year-old guilty on Friday. Wu was sentenced to 11.5 years in prison for rape, plus a year and 10 months for “the crime of assembling people into adultery.” After serving his sentence, Wu is set to be deported to Canada.

The superstar forced three women to have sex at his home in November and December 2020 when they were “drunk and unable to fight back,” the verdict said.

Wu rose to fame as a member of the K-pop boy band EXO. In 2014 he started a successful solo career as a singer, actor and model.

Last year, 19-year-old college student Du Meizhu made allegations against the pop star. She was raped by him when she was 17, Du explained. Other alleged victims then spoke up on the Internet and accused Wu’s employees of having invited them to alcoholic karaoke parties, among other things.
