A documentary about Kanye West including never-before-seen footage will be released on Netflix in 2022

Finally, a documentary about Kanye West is on its way. Earlier this year, it was reported that a project was underway and Netflix decided to invest in the project. Today, an official production trailer has finally been released.

Called Jeen-Yuh and directed by Coodie and Chike, it is a three-act documentary that focuses on Kanye West’s career. From his rise in Chicago as a producer to joining JAY-Z’s Roc-A-Fella and establishing the huge Yeezy brand, the documentary will offer insight into ‘Ye’s career with footage never seen before. Variety reports that it will also feature some behind-the-scenes looks at Kanye West’s 2020 presidential candidacy, as well as his mother’s death.

The trailer for the documentary shows footage of a young Kanye West and Mos Def in New York doing an a capella freestyle with Consequence and Wood Harris nodding in the background. Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah, who are Coodie and Chike, have worked alongside Kanye West in the past on “Jesus Walks (Version 3)” and “Through The Wire.”

The trailer’s release comes on the heels of ‘Ye, DONDA ‘s tenth studio album . The album was released in late August after three audition parties held in Atlanta and Chicago. More recently, it was revealed that a playlist of previously unreleased DONDA songs was also being drafted by Kanye.
