The death of the American actor and satirist was confirmed by Lucy Mercer, a friend who helps oversee his affairs.
Mort Sahl was born in Canada, but his family moved to Los Angeles (California, USA) as a child. In the 50s and 60s, he established himself as one of the pioneers of satirical comedy and ‘stand-up’, with monologues focused on social satire, serving as inspiration to many other comedians, such as Woody Allen.
