After almost two years of legal battles, Livia Brito won the lawsuit filed against her by the photographer Ernesto Zepeda, who accused the actress and her partner, Mariano Martínez, of allegedly having attacked him when he was trying to take some pictures of them in Cancun (Mexico).

The judge in charge of the case issued an order not to be linked to the process after determining that the exposure of the image of any individual without authorization violates the right to human dignity, and that the intention of the then accused was to protect their integrity and privacy.

In this way, the actress and her partner were acquitted and freed from a sentence of 10 to 18 years in prison.

The paparazzi had sued the protagonist of “La Desalmada” and her boyfriend for robbery with violence. According to him, the couple stripped him of his belongings, damaged his work equipment and, in addition, physically assaulted him when he tried to take a photograph of them outside the Óleo hotel, in the Riviera Maya.

When the scandal broke out, Brito said that her violent behavior occurred when she felt that she was being photographed in an invasive way by a stranger who was in hiding.

“I asked him to delete the photos. And, when I found myself with a refusal and on the grounds that my private life was also a public figure, an argument broke out, he pushed me and I reacted with a slap towards him.” Explained the soap opera actress.

REJECT FAILURE:

Ernesto Zepeda was dissatisfied with the sentence and, before the press, issued a clear warning against the actress, hinting that he will continue with the legal battle until the last instances.

At the moment I cannot give interviews, but what I can tell you is that it is too early to claim victory. An appeal was made from the judge’s decision, so it goes on and on. She has already been sued for civil matters in Mexico City, the criminal is on appeal in Cancun and I will follow all the necessary instances“, he said.
