While the burial of Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff will be held on January 12, the delicate question of their inheritance arises. Ten heirs, a castle: how will the family decide between the brothers’ fortune?

Six days apart, Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff died at 72 years old, on December 28, 2021 and January 3, 2022. Their funeral took place on Monday January 10 in Paris, and their burial will be held on Wednesday January 12 in the stricter privacy, in the cemetery of Saint-Lary (Gers), their birthplace. This is precisely where the Bogdanoffs have their only fortune: a medieval castle dating from the 11th century. In addition to speculations on the heritage remaining after their death, the brothers have always said they were ruined by their scientific research and by this expensive residence, which is confirmed by the relatives of the twins.

A thorny question then arises: who will inherit the Bogdanoff castle? The house has been the place of family reunions for the brothers since it was acquired 36 years ago. Banquets, celebrations, holidays … So many moments shared in the castle of Gers which would explain why each successor claims the inheritance. Besides, who are they exactly? Cédric Davant-Lannes, the president of the Gascon heritage preservation association, which has been following the restoration of the castle for a while, told actu.fr on January 6 : “We now have eleven heirs to agree on for the sale of this castle ” .

Who are the eleven heirs of the Bogdanoff brothers?

“Grichka’s heirs are her five brothers and sisters” : Laurence, 58 years old, Geraldine, 56 years old and Véronique, 54 years old and François Davant (half-brother), who currently lives in the castle. Grichka’s fifth brother was her twin. On the other hand, “Igor’s heirs are his six children,” says the specialist. Chronologically: Dimitri, 44, sisters Sasha, 30, and Anna-Claria, 29, Wenceslas, 25, Alexandre, 8, and Constantine, 5. Igor having died, the heirs are therefore ten in the end. Cédric Davant-Lannes hopes that the latter, whatever their share of the Bogdanoff heritage, will succeed above all in find an agreement to ensure the necessary works, estimated at 4 million euros , just for the roof of the historic residence. Or, that the clan of ten manages to “agree to sell the castle and that a buyer, keen on heritage, presents himself to restore it” , hopes the specialist in the region.
