Aníbal Fernández assured that Sergio Massa will “have the pen” if he is elected President.

He said so in a press conference at Casa Rosada. The Minister of Security referred to the profile of the pre-candidate of Unión por la Patria and assured that nobody “will mark the field”.

“Who will have the pen in the next government?”, was the question asked to Aníbal Fernández this Thursday, when a journalist in a press conference paraphrased Cristina Kirchner to ask him about the electoral outlook for the PASO. The Minister of Security did not hesitate in his answer: “Massa”, he answered without hesitation.

He said this after presenting the Single System for the Registration of Complaints of Gender Violence (URGE), in the Women’s Room of Casa Rosada, where he made statements to the press and referred to the pre-candidate for president of Unión por la Patria, whom he had previously praised by defining him as “a bulldozer”.

When asked about who will be the person who will make the decisions in case the Minister of Economy is elected at the polls next October, the official categorically denied that someone will “mark the field”.

“Isn’t he going to have the shadow of the Vice President or La Cámpora?”, insisted a journalist. Aníbal Fernández answered firmly: “No, no. If I tell you that it’s Sunday, it’s not. If I tell you that it is Sunday, then you will find cheese”, he affirmed.

In the same sense, he was asked once again about the rumors that if Sergio Massa reaches the Rosada, someone “will mark the court”. With an ironic tone and true to his style, the person in charge of the Security portfolio answered: “Yes, yes…Do you know that he will be marked?”, he said implying his opinion.

Then he added: “It is a superstructure that decides up there. Power is where it has to be: there is a president of the nation, there is a vice-president of the nation and each one has to answer”, he pointed out, differentiating the roles of the Executive.

Although Aníbal Fernández was one of the officials who supported Daniel Scioli’s pre-candidacy as President -which he withdrew hours before the closing of the lists when Unión por la Patria defined a unity formula for the PASO-, since it was confirmed that the presidential binomial was formed by Massa and Rossi, he showed his support to the former mayor of Tigre.

In this regard, he had said that Albertismo worked “until the last minute” in the campaign of the Brazilian ambassador, but he highlighted that the decision to nominate the Minister of Economy “was made among the different sectors”.

In an interview with Futurock, Aníbal had defined Massa as “a bulldozer with a strategy of his own imprint which is very powerful”. In this line, he assured that the pre-candidate will do everything possible to impose his ideas, since he is “a man who knows how to set up and manage public affairs like few others”.

Likewise, he said that he is confident that the conditions are in place for the next elections to go well and thus “have a President who will undoubtedly stay for eight years and will leave a very strong trace”.

Regarding the decision making process, he stressed that Sergio Massa “neither hesitates nor goes around ‘macaqueando'”. “It cannot be otherwise, he does not know how to do things in any other way”, he pointed out.
