“Each immigrant who has come to this country, each and every one of them, has their own unique story. They fight for a better life, with the difficulties that this implies, but they also end up believing in the United States. They believe that this place creates opportunities and so it is. That’s certainly my father’s story,” Jeff Bezos explained.
Miguel Bezos left Santiago de Cuba when he was 16 years old without his own parents, who wanted to offer him a better life, but could not accompany him, and he arrived at what would end up becoming his new home without mastering English, although that never caused him a problem to make his way in an unknown country.
“I think that in all immigrants there is a deep optimism and also a deep resistance. My father is a hard worker. He is a warm person with an easy smile,” said his famous son Jeff Bezos, who could not hold back his tears, adding that Both he and his brothers have been very fortunate to have his example to follow.
