A senior White House official disclosed that the president Joe Biden will soon announce new COVID-19 initiatives so that Americans receive their coronavirus vaccine and are up to date on their health scheme.

The president will not be alone in making his comments, at his side will be the leaders of the main pharmaceutical companies in the country including Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid and Albertsons, as well as Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, the President’s top medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, Surgeon General Dr. Vivek. Murthy and White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha.

The president will receive his updated COVID-19 vaccine and will ask more Americans to get vaccinated as soon as possible to be protected during the winter season and holidays.

“President will again renew his call to all business, educational, and civic leaders to encourage their communities to get their up-to-date vaccinations and keep their communities safe,” the official said in a statement.

It is known that at least 20 million Americans, including nearly one in five older adults, have already received their updated COVID-19 vaccine which is aimed at two subvariants of the ómicron variant, the versions that most predominate in the territory.

“While COVID-19 is not the disruptive force it was when the president took office, the virus continues to evolve. COVID-19, the flu, and other respiratory illnesses spread faster in the winter, when people gather indoors,” the White House official said, adding that “as the weather gets colder, Americans need to take steps to stay protected.”

New COVID-19 measures

The Biden administration will also take the opportunity to publicize a couple of new COVID-19 measures among which stand out that Walgreens will partner with DoorDash and Uber “to bring free delivery of prescriptions for Paxlovid, an oral treatment for COVID-19, directly to the doorsteps of Americans living in underserved communities.”

US Department of Health and Human Services to Launch Family Immunization Tour VaxUpAmerica, with pop-up COVID-19 vaccination events, including at the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Championship in Arizona next month, and tool kit distributions at day care centers, nursing homes, community health centers and other places.

Schools, businesses and other organizations across the country will be encouraged to organize their own vaccination events.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will focus on the elderly, with its efforts to reach people by email and phone to provide information on up-to-date COVID-19 vaccines and how to obtain them.

Biden “will call on every school district, college and university in America to organize at least one vaccination clinic for Thanksgiving“.

The White House was very emphatic in saying that they have the necessary tools to “manage this moment” and enabling Americans to go about their lives with “peace of mind knowing they will be protected from serious illness”.
