After several requests for help from the Civil Aeronautics (Aerocivil) from live airon Friday, February 10, the Colombian low-cost airline confirmed that it was taking advantage of the Disaster Recovery Process (DRP)in accordance with the regulations that protect companies affected by the covid-19 crisis.

The reason the company made the decision was to ensure its permanence in the market, while Aerocivil resolves the offer between Avianca and JetSmart, who are currently vying for the possibility of having 100% of their shares.

Because they are awaiting approval of either of the two negotiations by Aerocivil, the company explained that they have not been able to access their capital for the past nine months, which forces them to take advantage of insolvency law. .
