The United States has issued a new travel alert to Russia and asked its citizens to leave the country immediately

The United States Embassy in Moscow issued a new travel alert to its citizens recommending that “do not travel” in the country because of the “unforeseeable consequences the unprovoked invasion of Ukraineand asking those who are already on Russian territory to leave the country “immediately”.

Thus, it indicated on its website that US citizens in Russia face ‘potential harassment’ and ‘detentions’ or “the arbitrary application of local law”, while emphasizing that embassy has ‘limited ability to assist US citizens in Russia’apart from the “possibility of terrorism”.

“Exercise greater caution due to the risk of false arrests,” he said, before recalling the suspension of operations in his consulates in Russia and noting that “Russia may refuse to recognize dual US citizenshipdenying access to consular assistance, subjecting them to mobilization, preventing their departure from Russia or recruiting them”.
