One of the measures adopted by Peru is the dismissal of ambassadors sent to the countries in question. In doing so, obstacles are generated for different decisions of bilateral scope, according to internationalist Gattas Abugattas in statements for El Comercio.

Son six countries who took a position contrary to what was declared by the Government of Peru.

Although there is no official statement on the social conflict that exists in Peru, he made reference to the situation of former president Pedro Castillo through a statement he titled “Joint Statement on the Situation in Peru”.

“To the world, it is not news that President Terrones Castlefrom the day of his election, he was the victim of anti-democratic harassment, in violation of article 23 of the American Convention on Human Rights, Costa Rica Covenant“, we read in the document.

The country in question is under the government of Alberto Fernández and the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for consultation on what has been issued.

The current president is Luis Arce and on January 22, during an event of his party, he publicly declared that Peru was in search of democracy and that it also had the right to elect a Government who represents them.

The measure adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consisted of calling the Peruvian ambassador sent to that country, in addition to issuing a statement against interference in internal affairs.

Under the orders of Gabriel Boric, the president spoke on January 24 at the CELAC Summit, indicating that there was a need to change course in Peru, due to the repression and violence against demonstrators.

“It is unacceptable that you are defending (…) democracy and human rights,” he said at the time.

Peru, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed discomfort with the statements which it described as “disrespectful”.

At the CELAC summit, Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia, asked why there were parliamentary and violent coups and why popularly elected presidents (like Pedro Castillo) “are in prison today”.

The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the Peruvian ambassador and issued a protest note against the interference of the coffee-producing country.

President Xiomara Castro also took advantage of the CELAC Summit condemn the coup d’etat in Peru and the aggression committed against the demonstrators. Furthermore, he called Pedro Castillo a “legitimate president”.

“Our solidarity with the legitimate elected president, Pedro Castillo and we demand their immediate release,” he said at the time.

Manuel Lopez Obrador, popularly known as AMLO, held a press conference in his country on December 8 and said the following.

“What I imagine is that they already had everything to take it away (Pedro Castillo). Imagine the legal precept, “moral incapacity”. It’s in the Constitution and I imagine when he feels they’re going to impeach him, he makes the decision to do away with Congress,” he said.

Actions taken were communication with the Mexican Ambassador to Peru and more than one call. Finally, the expulsion of its ambassador to Peru was pronounced and he was declared persona non grata.

For Abugattás, the behavior of Honduras and Mexico over Peru This is serious, which is why drastic measures have been applied, such as the withdrawal of foreign ministers.

One of the options for finding solutions would be the initiatives on the part of the countries mentioned to reduce the impasse or the harshness with Peru. Respect and dialogue are essential to later recognize the current investiture. The other option would be the eventual change of government.
