A boxer vomited in the ring after being hit

The venue at Coosa Landing Gadsden, Alabama (USA) was the site where the one of the most curious and unfortunate episodes of the weekend when boxer Greer Márquez lost by knockout to debuting Marquis Williams in a middleweight bout.

The end of the fight traveled the world but not because of what could have been a brutal combination or a precise heavy blow but because of the stomach problem the 26-year-old boxer suffered from after impact.

In the images published in Twitter by user Tim Boxeo could see when Marquez vomited inside the ring after suffering a left-right combination and a blow to the plexus from Williams, who was making his official debut as a professional in the ring.

The match referee quickly asked Williams to go to his corner to help his opponent, however, when he turned around and saw what was happening. he called off the fight without hesitation.

“Looks like he’s throwing up, talk about bad indigestion”Said one of the commentators who was recounting the fight. Greer, was able to reach on his own but he was seen staggering until he could hold the ropes. On the other side, Williams was celebrating his first victory as a professional boxer.

“Incredibly, Márquez Greer got to his knees very quickly, but He seemed to vomit at least twice.” reported the UK portal The sun. According to boxing rules, Greer lost by medical technical knockout, after suffering this accident inside the ring while fighting.

Unfortunately it was the fifteenth consecutive defeat for the athlete from Jackson (Tennessee) in the same number of presentations as he had in the 6 years of his professional career. It should be mentioned that with this one against Williams, it was theat number 13 in which he fell in the first round and his knockout adds to the 14 others Greer has suffered.
