Explosion, fire and collapse in a house in Villa Devoto: one injured and one person missing

an impressive burst followed by a voracious fire went wild today at noon in a house located in Pedro Morán at 4900, in the neighborhood of Buenos Aires Dedicated villawhere there was also a collapse first floor. Police sources confirmed GlobeLiveMedia that the incident occurred following a gas leak inside the house.

According to information provided by the municipal police to this media, the city firefighters and members of the 11B neighborhood police station moved at noon to a house located at the intersection of Pedro Morán and Quevedo due to a blast. The flames also spread to a company van Metrogaz and two other vehicles located at the door of the house.

As a result of the accident, a gas company operator suffered serious injuries and burns, for which he had to be transferred by a SAME ambulance to Zubizarreta Hospital. Meanwhile, another worker is missing and is intensely sought after.

“One of the workers, around 40 years old, was transferred to the Zubizarreta hospital, where he is in serious condition,” he explained to telam the head of the emergency medical care service (SAME) Alberto Crescenti.

The source of fire in the house was concentrated on the first floor, where there was also a partial collapse. For its part, the fire in the vehicles was already under control.

In the immediate vicinity of the place there is a strong smell of gas, which is why the possibility of extending the security perimeter was considered. Also, the company Edesur cut the electricity and the city’s fire department K9 unit and rescue guard personnel are also working.
