The 38-year-old lottery player, who chose to remain anonymous, said he felt like he was going to have a heart attack when he scratched off a ticket and discovered he had won half a million dollars.

A Calhoun County, Michigan man still can’t believe he won $500,000 in the Black Pearls instant lottery game, according to the Michigan Lottery.

The 38-year-old, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at the Columbia C-Store, 1265 Columbia Ave. East, in the city of Battle Creek.

“I bought a Black Pearls ticket while I was in the store and scratched it off when I got in my car. When I saw that I had won $500,000, I thought I was going to have a heart attack! I tried to calm down, but I was shaking all the way home. I still can’t believe it’s real!” the man said, according to the Michigan Lottery.

The man said he plans to use his prize winnings to buy a house.

Lottery players have won more than $7 million dollars playing the Black Pearls ticket, which launched just in August.
