We admit it: one of our favorite contestants in Survivor’s history is Violeta Mangrinan. The Valencian became one of the stars of the 2019 edition, featuring a love story with Fabbio that millions of viewers witnessed.
Unfortunately, she had to leave the competition for medical reasons. During the eighth episode, she was evacuated due to her discomfort, and after several medical examinations, the decision was made for her to return to Spain.
“My gallbladder can’t take it anymore here… I’m not going to die, but if things get complicated they won’t be able to operate on me here. That’s why I have to go back to Madrid,” said Violeta, bidding farewell to her fellow survivors.
The Condition for Violeta’s Return to the Competition
Given that Violeta left the competition for health reasons, the program’s organization promised her a spot in the next edition if she wanted it. Despite this, four years and three editions have passed since Violeta left Honduras. So why didn’t the influencer come back to the program? Although many thought it was due to her recent motherhood – her daughter Gala was born in July 2022 – we now know the real reason.
It was in an interview for El Televisero, during the Ídolo Awards, that Violeta revealed the actual reason. She had to go through the operating room:
“I signed the renewal. As I was leaving due to illness, I came back in 2020, but I had to have my gallbladder removed. It was one of the conditions they imposed on me because the reality assurance did not take over.”
That’s when Violeta realized that she would have to decline the offer: “I’m not going to remove my gallbladder to go on reality TV. And that’s why I stayed.”
When the reporter asked if the door was still open, Violeta replied: “If they paid me a lot of money, I would think about it.”
Without a doubt, Violeta prioritizes her well-being and does not want to undergo surgery for a TV show.
